FTP
For larger files that will not e-mail well, we utilize an FTP service.
It is a means of uploading or downloading files from a server for quicker
file transfer. If your file requires an FTP transfer, we will contact you
and give you a username and password. Click on the link below for directions
on how to use our FTP service.
WebFTP
Visit webftp.dreamhost.com
Log in using
ftpserver:ftpdomainname.com
username:username
password:passwords.
WebFTP Uploads
- Click Login, you’ll come to the main screen
- Click on Upload button, you’ll come to the Upload screen.
- Click on Browse/choose file. This is to navigate to the file on your hard
drive,CD,DVD, wherever you have your file stored.
- Once you have selected the file, you can select another file, up to 7MB
of files in one upload. When you have selected all of the photos you wish
to upload, click on the green check mark.
- You’ll get a message letting you know that it’s checking the
file, and then a message that says the file has been successfully transferred
to the FTP server.
WebFTP Downloads
- Click Login, you’ll come to the main screen.
- You’ll see a folder called “NAME OF FOLDER WHERE FILES ARE”
Click on that link. It will open a directory with files that you need.
- Put a check mark next to the file(s) that you need.
- In the top right hand corner is a button marked “Download”.
Click on that.
- Depending on your browser, the file will either download automatically
or ask where you want to save it to. It will download as a zipped file,
which can easily be opened byStuffit(MAC) or Winzip(PC), both free programs
to open files with. All you need to do is double click on the zipped file
and it will be there.
